The Tea Maid And The Tailor (read by the author)

Early in her career, Cathrynne Valente wrote a duology of books, I won’t call them novels as they’re decidedly something else, entitled collectively The Orphan’s Tales which won the 2008 Mythopoeic Award, and its first volume, The Orphan’s Tales: In the Night Garden, won the 2006 James Tiptree, Jr. Award and was nominated for the 2007 World Fantasy Award. The second volume, The Orphan’s Tales: In the CIties Of Coin and Space, is just as splendid.

So we’ve got her reading a selection from the first volume titled ‘The Tea Maid and The Tailor’ whigh though short is a full story indeed. You can hear her here.

Need I say that you shouldn’t use it elsewhere as it’s only intended for GMR?

Diverse Voices

Diverse Voices is our catch-all for writers and other staffers who did but a few reviews or other writings for us. They are credited at the beginning of the actual writing if we know who they are which we don't always. It also includes material by writers that first appeared in the Sleeping Hedgehog, our in-house newsletter for staff and readers here. Some material is drawn from Folk Tales, Mostly Folk and Roots & Branches, three other publications we've done.
